Only the body can heal itself

Chiropractic is a natural form of health care based on a philosophy that recognises and respects the primacy of your nervous system in determining your wellbeing.

Your nervous system is the human body's master system, controlling and coordinating the function of virtually every cell, tissue and organ in your body. Your nervous system is made of the brain, the spinal cord and the spinal nerves. The spinal cord goes down through the spine and between each vertebrae comes out, as a spinal nerve. When a vertebrae loses it's normal motion or position, they can irritate the nervous system and disrupt the function of the tissues or organs the nerves control. This is what chiropractors call a subluxation. If you have a subluxation for long enough you will start developing symptoms and poor health. You are not functioning at your optimum anymore.
Subluxations may be caused by many factors such as poor posture, knocks, falls, car accidents, even the birth process can be a major cause of subluxation in the newborn child. Stress, whether it be physical, emotional or chemical, is one of the most common causes of spinal subluxation.

The chiropractic philosophy recognises that only the power that created the body can heal the body—if there isn’t any interference. The role of your chiropractor is to find the underlying cause of your symptoms and remove it naturally rather than using medication and drug to cover up the problem. The primary focus of chiropractic is to ensure your nerves are working at their best in order to allow optimal communication between your brain and your body, and therefore maximize your potential for peak health and performance.

Your chiropractor will find the interference to your nervous system, remove them and let the body heal itself, as was designed to. Your chiropractor has studied in an accredited University for a minimum of 5 years. Chiropractic spinal adjustments are internationally recognised as safe and effective for all, young and old.

Phases of Chiropractic Care

INITIAL INTENSIVE CARE

Most patients will present to us with some neck or back pain, organic problems such as heartburn, headaches, insomnia and much much more. During the initial phase of care, we will focus on making sure your body is switched back on so it can start healing and eventually the pain eases and symptoms subside. This phase is intense,as we need to retrain the spine, muscles, ligaments and nervous system. Your body may have been functioning improperly for a very long time, and it needs time to heal. During this phase your visits are more frequent.

REHABILITATION CARE

In most cases pain has gone. You will experience greater energy, less fatigue as your body is now starting to function better. We now concentrate on cementing the results and retraining the body. It would be very easy to go back to your old way now! You are feeling so much better!
We know by experience that unless we keep on training the spine and nervous system, you will reverse back to your old patterns and present again with the same symptoms and problems within no time. This is the “ no patching phase”; it is the restoring or rehabilitation phase.
Exercises and self-care will be introduced at this time. Your visits will have become less frequent by then.

MAINTENANCE and wellness CARE

When the body is free of pain and functioning at an optimum, you can finally build up some” Health Credit” and improve your general wellbeing. This is when you see your chiropractor on a regular basis to make sure that you are switched on 100% of the time. This is pro-active care, you are looking in the future and giving your body the best chance to heal and stay well. We will help with dietary optimisation, exercise regime and stress coping strategies.
